Welcome to the South Milwaukee Downtown Market!
The South
Milwaukee Downtown Market is committed to working in
partnership with our vendors to ensure a successful
event … and the following rules will ensure a better
market for everybody. If you have any questions about
any of these regulations, please contact Market Chairman
Bob Pfeifer at (414) 768-8195 or by email at
Bob.Pfeiffer@mcfls.org.
-
All
vendors are subject to approval the South Milwaukee
Downtown Market Committee.
-
Applications are due by noon on Tuesday of that
week’s market. No exceptions.
-
The
market is held rain or shine.
-
There
are no vendor fee refunds.
-
All
produce vendors must have their own farm, garden
plot or other growing area.
-
While
the South Milwaukee Downtown Market strongly
encourages all produce sold to be locally grown, a
limited amount of reselling may be allowed out of
season. The origin of these items must be clearly
marked with signage.
-
No generators are
allowed. If you would like electricity, please
contact market officials.
If you can
not attend a particular market, you must inform South
Milwaukee Downtown Market personnel of this by 10 a.m.
on the day of the market. Failure to do so more than
three times will result in dismissal from the market and
forfeiture of all fees.
On-site
regulations
-
Vendors
can begin setting up at 1 p.m. each Thursday.
-
Vendors
must have their vehicles removed from the pedestrian
areas by 2:30 p.m.
-
Vendors
must be setup and ready to sell their goods by the
start of the market.
-
Use of
EZ-Up-style tents is strongly encouraged, and they
should be secured by weights. Tents are also
available for rent for $10 per week. Contact a
market representative for more information.
-
A
limited number of stalls include vendor parking
directly behind them. No other vehicles will be
allowed on the selling grounds. Additional vendor
parking will be provided nearby. Contact a market
representative for more information.
-
No
vendor pets are allowed.
Health Department Regulations
-
Food
and produce vendors must follow South Milwaukee
Health Department regulations, obtain any necessary
permits and pay any applicable fees. For more
information, please call 414-768-8055, or visit the
“Forms” section of this website.
-
The
South Milwaukee Downtown Market strongly encourages
that all produce is personally grown by the vendor(s)
selling it. If not, the vendor is subject to South
Milwaukee Health permitting fees ($40 annually).
